Planting Calendar

Choose your region and up to eight crops, and build a 12-month calendar of when to sow, plant out and harvest — then print it for the shed wall. Sow and plant-out dates are worked out from your region's real last frost.

Sow
RHS advises sowing late Feb-mid Mar for greenhouse crops, late Mar-early Apr for outdoor. Expressed here as an offset so dates track each region's real last frost rather than a hardcoded month. Transplant only once nights are reliably above 10C, which in Scotland trails last frost by roughly 2 weeks.
